Week 6 Assignment – Problem-Centered Curriculum Design

Overview

The activities and assignments in this course build on one another and use the same scenario, in which you are a curriculum designer for a K-12 school district. The scenario is detailed in Week 1’s Assignment Preparation. Please refer to that as needed.

An important part of curriculum design is the planning and preparation phase. After completing a needs analysis of your problem-centered curriculum, it is now time to plan and prepare the curriculum that you want to implement in the school district.

Preparation

To prepare for this assignment, review this week’s readings, especially Danielson’s Framework, the library articles on Bloom’s taxonomy, and the section of your textbook on templates.

As you will see in the assignment requirements, you will incorporate some material you completed in previous weeks, such as information from your needs analysis and your concept map. You will integrate these elements with new assignment tasks to develop your curriculum. The assignment will also serve as the basis for your PowerPoint presentation in Week 9.

You will use the Problem-Centered Curriculum Design Template, linked below, to complete this assignment. Download the template file and save as “Lastname_Firstname_EDU555_WK6_Assignment.”
