Competency: Category Letter, Number and Subcategory | Major Competency: M, Pediatrics Competency: M-1, Pediatric Nursing and Interventions Subcategory: M-1-1: Stages of Growth and Development in Pediatrics |
Significant Learning Experience: Describe one significant learning experience in this course related to the CLPNA Competency identified. Provide an example | I gained a few significant learning experiences from this course, more so in relation to the pediatric client’s pediatric competency, growth, and development. To be specific, one of the most significant insights from this course must be the lessons on growth and development concerning the nursing foundation and pediatric competency. The lecture, in this case, was a great experience on the various theories of undergrowth and development that engaged a detailed discussion of competency and its link to pediatric competency. Among the theories, I became fond of in the same category include Piaget’s, Erickson’s, and Kohlberg’s theories. The most amazing experience behind this lecture was learning about the growth and development of physical and mental aspects from childhood to adolescence. This helped me develop the skills in human growth and development, which in layperson’s terms, is the ability to tell the development stages of an individual by asking them a few questions regarding their social and specific factors. This also enabled me to understand better a person’s development from their growth and development characteristics, which are crucially detailed in the lectures and the related theories. |
