Revised Critical Essay
Background & Instructions
This assignment builds on the work you have already done in the Research Record and Critical Essay assignments. Now that you’ve written your Critical Essay and received a grade and feedback for it, you will apply that feedback and improve your essay. Make the suggested changes listed in your Critical Essay feedback. Do not make additional changes beyond what was requested by your instructor.
Your grade will be determined by the overall quality of the revised essay and by how thoroughly and effectively you applied instructor feedback. The Revised Critical Essay must show evidence of meaningful editing and revision of the Critical Essay. Essays that do not demonstrate revision will not receive a passing grade.
Just like your Critical Essay, the Revised Critical Essay will have a title page and reference page and adhere to APA formatting guidelines. The content should be the same as the Critical Essay except for those points that your instructor has asked you to improve.
For the Revised Critical Essay, you will add an abstract to your essay. The abstract is a brief summary of your essay. It should be approximately 100 words and must identify your main argument (thesis) as well as key evidence and supporting details. The abstract should be clearly labelled and be on its own page immediately after the title page.
As with all assignments in this class, you may not use AI tools to generate, edit, re-phrase or “polish” your writing. Assignments showing evidence of AI use will receive automatic zeroes. You may use the writing tutors, spelling and grammar checker tools, peer review, and your instructor as supports.
